Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes helped restore critical funding for the city of Eastvale.

In 2017, Assemblymember Sabrina Cervantes (D-Corona) worked with Senator Richard D. Roth (D-Riverside) to secure passage of Senate Bill 130, which restores critical funding to the newly incorporated Riverside County city of Eastvale. The cities of Jurupa Valley, Menifee, and Wildomar also had their funding restored through SB 130.

“This is a momentous development for the city of Eastvale,” said Assemblymember Cervantes. “With this state funding restored, Eastvale can once again provide critical public safety services and the community benefit programs that our residents seek and deserve. I want to thank Senator Roth for working with me to save our cities.”

Eastvale, Jurupa Valley, Menifee, and Wildomar all incorporated before the enactment of Senate Bill 89 in 2011. After SB 89, these four cities lost state funding that had been used to provide essential services including public safety and fire protection. With the enactment of SB 130, Eastvale is expected to receive $3 million in additional funding per year.
